Issue
On a small number of buses, there is an error in the 9th digit of the vehicle identification number (VIN). As a result, the bus cannot be properly identified using the VIN. Canadian regulations provide a format the VIN number that must be followed.
Safety risk
This error could cause confusion when trying to identify the bus using the VIN.
Corrective actions
New Flyer will notify the owner by email and provide them with a replacement VIN placard. A New Flyer representative will replace the placard on each affected bus.
