Issue

Issue: On a small number of XE40 transit buses, a leak inside the energy storage system (ESS) enclosure could cause a short circuit. Note: This recall only affects buses equipped with a fiberglass energy storage system (ESS) enclosure. Safety Risk: A short circuit can create the risk of a fire. Corrective Actions: New Flyer will notify owners by mail. The corrective actions for this recall are under development. If a yellow "LOW COOLANT" or a red "CRITICALLY LOW COOLANT" warning displays on the dash, all ESSs must be inspected immediately. To reduce the safety risk, New Flyer recommends that you should follow special service procedures if the bus will be parked for more than 3 days. You can contact New Flyer for more details about these procedures.
