Issue
Issue:
On certain vehicles, if the front bearing on the alternator fails, the alternator belts could continue to turn the alternator. This could cause the alternator bearing to overheat.
Safety Risk:
An overheated alternator bearing could create the risk of a fire.
Corrective Actions:
Prevost will notify owners by mail and instruct you to take your vehicle to a Prevost service center to replace the alternator belts. To reduce the safety risk, Prevost recommends that you should inspect the front bearing on the alternator regularly, and not operate the engine with a defective alternator.
