Issue
Issue:
On certain buses, the C1 drive hub in the transmission may fail. If this happens, there could be a loss of power to the drive wheels when the bus comes to a stop. This can disable the bus and make it unable to move under its own power.
Note: This recall only affects certain buses built with an Allison B500 transmission.
Safety Risk:
A bus that is disabled could create the need for a transfer of passengers in an uncontrolled environment, which may create a risk of injury.
Corrective Actions:
Volvo will notify owners by mail and instruct them to take their vehicle to a Volvo service center to update the Transmission Control Module software.
