Issue
On certain trucks, the engine wire harness could be damaged by contact with various locations around the air compressor and the frame rail. If this happens, the engine could stall and you may not be able to restart it. Note: This recall only affects trucks built with a Detroit DD8 engine.
Safety risk
A sudden loss of engine power could increase the risk of a crash.
Corrective actions
Daimler Trucks North America (DTNA) will notify owners by mail and instruct you to take your truck to a DTNA authorized service facility to inspect the clearance between the wire harness and engine, and to check for any damage to the wiring. If the wire harness is damaged, it will be replaced with a new harness that has a severe duty wrap and additional hardware for routing.
