Issue
On certain vehicles, the seat base may have been assembled improperly. This could cause the seat belt buckle to detach or cause the seat slider not to latch properly. This could result in unexpected movement of the seat or seat back.
Safety risk
If the seat moves while driving, vehicle control could be affected. In a crash, a seat that moves or a seat belt that separates could increase the risk of injury.
Corrective actions
The company will notify owners by mail. Owners will be instructed to take their vehicle to a dealer to have the seat belt bracket and the seat slider latch inspected. If an incomplete or missing weld is found, or if a slider does not latch properly, the seat base will be replaced. Note: This supersedes Recall 2018-144. Vehicles repaired under the previous recall do not require repair under this recall.
