Issue

On certain buses equipped with Kidde KDS-25 fire extinguishers, there may be a problem with the electric actuator on the fire extinguisher. This could cause the fire extinguisher not to discharge when it is activated. In the case of a fire, this could increase the risk of injury and/or property damage. Correction: Owners are advised to contact Kidde, who will inspect the extinguishers and repair as necessary.

Note: The affected actuators were used in Kidde production between January 1, 2015 and November 5, 2018 on the following Kidde parts numbers: 421220-11, 421220-12, 421220-21, 421220-22, and 424766 Rebuild Kit. The actuators can be identified by a batch code on the actuator label. The following batch codes require replacement: 042A/15, 467A/17, and 639A/17.
