Affected products

This recall involves Supacaz brand Orbitron – CNC Alloy flat pedals in oilslick multicolor sold by Specialized Bicycle Components Canada, Inc. The high grip layout features 16 pins per side on an ultralight alloy low-profile body. The pedal measures 11 centimetres wide x 20 centimetres long x 7 centimetres high. The Specialized SKU is 09122-3300 which can be found on the back of the retail packaging.

Issue

The pedal body may detach from the pedal spindle and/or the pedal spindle may break, posing a fall hazard.

As of November 28, 2023, the company has received 1 report of the pedal body detaching from the spindle in Canada, and no report of injuries. In the United States, the company has received 21 reports of the pedal body detaching from the pedal spindle and/or the pedal spindle breaking and no report of injuries. The company has received no report of incidents or injuries in Mexico.

What you should do

Consumers should immediately stop using the Supacaz brand Orbitron Pedals and contact an authorized Specialized retailer for a full refund.
