Product description
This recall involves Solar System and DNA educational craft kits sold under the Floracraft brand name. The kits contain green coated wires that measure approximately 38.5 cm (14 ½ inches) long and various styrofoam shapes. The recalled Solar System kits can be identified by model number SS2003 and SS2003P, and the DNA kit by the model number DNA2003.
Hazard identified
It has been determined that the green surface coating on the wire components in the craft kits contain lead in excess of the allowable limit.
Neither Floracraft nor Health Canada have received any reports of illness or incidents related to the use of these craft kits.

Number sold
Approximately 11 791 craft kits were sold at Wal-Mart, Brault & Bouthillier, and Michael's Arts and Crafts stores across Canada.
Time period sold
The recalled products were sold from January 2003 to February 2009.
