This recall involves Shine It Jewellery Cleaner, which is a liquid packaged in a 149mL red plastic jar. The jar has a red plastic lid and black labelling. The recalled product is identified by the UPC code 056626814040 and item number SOO626.

Hazard identified

Health Canada's auditing process has revealed that this product does not have the mandatory labelling as required under Canadian law.

The jewellery cleaner lacks the symbol, warnings, and child-resistant packaging required for corrosive products, posing a serious burn hazard.

Health Canada has not received any reports of incidents or injuries related to the use of this jewellery cleaner.

Approximately 3,984 units of the recalled products were sold across Canada.

Time period sold

The recalled products were sold from October 2008 to March 2009.
