This recall involves Shine It Jewellery Cleaner, which is a dark yellow liquid packaged in a 59 mL (2 fl. oz.) plastic flip-top bottle. The recalled product is identified by the UPC code 056626761252.

Hazard identified

Health Canada's auditing process has revealed that this product does not meet the mandatory packaging and labelling requirements under Canadian law.

The jewellery cleaner lacks the symbol, warnings and child-resistant packaging required for corrosive products, posing a serious burn hazard.

Health Canada has not received any reports of injuries or incidents related to the use of this jewellery cleaner.

Number sold

Approximately 9,700 units of the recalled products were sold at various locations across Canada.

Time period sold

The recalled products were sold from January 2006 to January 2009.
