Lightform LED Projectors recalled due to Fire Hazard
Summary
Immediately stop using the recalled projectors and contact Lightform for a free software update.
Affected products
This recall involves the LF2 and LF2+ Projectors. The projectors are LED projectors and are black in colour with “Lightform” printed on the top. The projectors are about 20 centimeters (8 inches) high and 20 centimeters (8 inches) wide.
Issue
The projector fan’s software can cause the fan to malfunction and overheat, posing a fire hazard.
As of November 15, 2021, the company has received three reports of incidents, but no property damage or injuries beyond distortions of the plastic of the product have been reported in Canada.
What you should do
Consumers should immediately stop using the recalled LED Projectors. Original Canadian purchasers of the affected product have been contacted directly by Lightform to facilitate the software upgrade. Consumers who have not been notified directly, should contact Lightform for a free firmware upgrade to fix the software issue. Consumers may contact Lightform at 1-855-242-5066 Monday to Friday 8 AM to 5 PM PST or online.
