What to do

Immediately remove the drawstrings and toggles from the bottom of the jacket, by cutting both sides of the cords, to eliminate the hazard.

Affected products

This recall involves the KidORCA Hard Shell Rain Jackets model #2021, sold in children’s sizes 3 through 10. The jacket is designed to be a waterproof shell layer and is available in five colors: ash rose, black, merlot, olive and navy. The KidORCA Hard Shell Rain Jacket features fully taped seams, waterproof zippers, waterproof contour, fleece lining, and an adjustable stay-on brim hood.

Issue

Drawstrings on children’s upper outerwear can become caught on playground equipment, fences, or other objects and result in strangulation, or in the case of a vehicle, the child being dragged.

As of January 18th, 2022, the company has received no reports of incidents or injuries related to the use of this product in Canada.

What you should do

Consumers should immediately remove the drawstrings and toggles from the bottom of the jacket, by cutting both sides of the cords, to eliminate the hazard.
