Product description

This recall involves the Keurig® MINI Plus brewer, model number K10 (previously identified as model number B31), manufactured between December 2009 and July 2014.   The brewer is a single-serve, hot coffee brewer, designed for personal use.  The product comes in various colours, has the name “KEURIG” on the front and the serial number appears on a white sticker on the base of each unit.

Only Keurig® MINI Plus brewers with following serial numbers are included in this recall:

Hazard identified

Water can overheat during the brewing process, spray out and burn consumers.

Keurig has received 25 reports of incidents involving liquid spraying from the product in Canada, which resulted in 17 minor burns.

Health Canada has not received any reports of consumer incidents or injuries related to the use of the brewers.

Number sold

Approximately 563,892 brewers were sold in Canada and approximately 5,997,173 in the United States by various retailers.

Time period sold

The recalled brewers were sold from December 2009 to December 2014 in Canada and the United States.

Place of origin

Manufactured in China and Malaysia.

What you should do

Consumers should contact Keurig to obtain a free repair kit. While waiting for a repair kit, consumers can contact Keurig about steps to avoid burning injury.

For more information, consumers may contact the toll-free MINI Brewer Plus hotline at 1-844-255-7886 Monday through Friday from 8:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. ET and from 8:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. ET on Saturday or Sunday or visit the MINI Brewer Plus website.

Consumers may view the release by the US CPSC on the Commission's website.
