Hoppetta 2-Way Gauze Sleep Bag recalled due to Flammability Hazard
Immediately stop using the recalled 2-Way Gauze Sleep Bag and discard, or return to Baby Square for a refund.
This recall involves Hoppetta 2-Way Gauze Sleeping Bags made 100% cotton, available in blue, pink, rabitte, and polka patterns. The garment is designed as a 2-way sleep bag for children 3 months to 3 years, transforming from sleeper to dressing gown. The sleep bag is approximately 35 cm in width and 58 cm in length.
Health Canada’s sampling and evaluation program has determined that these products do not meet the flammability requirements for children’s sleepwear of the Children’s Sleepwear Regulations.
Loose-fitting children’s sleepwear can contact ignition sources such as stove elements, candles, and matches more readily than tight-fitting sleepwear, and once ignited will burn rapidly, potentially resulting in severe burns to large areas of the child’s body.
As of January 21, 2022, the company has not received any reports of incidents or injuries in Canada.
