Product description
This recall involves the following two gun care products sold under the brand name "Browning".
The Gun Oil is in a black 177 mL pressurized aerosol container with a black lid and the words "Step 4" printed on the container. The product can be identified by model number 124040 and UPC 023614059066.
The Solvent and Degreaser is in a black 560 mL pressurized aerosol container with a black lid and the words "Step 3" printed on the container. The product can be identified by model number 124025 and UPC 023614048626.
Hazard identified
Health Canada has established that the gun care products do not meet the mandatory warning labelling requirements, as required under Canadian law.
The product lacks the symbols and warnings required for consumer chemicals. This lack of labelling information, including appropriate warnings, may lead to serious injury.
Health Canada has not received any reports of incidents or injuries to Canadians related to the use of these products.
Number sold
Approximately 912 units of the solvent and degreaser and 444 units of the gun oil were sold in various stores across Canada.
Time period sold
The recalled products were sold from September 2008 to December 2009.
