Product description

The recall involves the Emzone Brake and Parts Cleaner (industrial) packaged in a 390 g/13.8 oz. aerosol container with model number #45004 and UPC # 0 60480 45004 7.

This recall does not apply to the Emzone Brake and Parts Cleaner (retail) packaged in a 390 g/13.8 oz. aerosol container with model #45040 and UPC # 0 60480 45040 5.

Hazard identified

The products were designed and labelled for professional/trade (GHS) requirements and should have only been sold to industrial clients.  However, these products were sold to industrial and retail clients.  The professional grade product, which lacks consumer labelling information, including appropriate warnings, may lead to serious injury or property damage.

As of August 17th, 2018, the company has received no reports of incidents or injuries related to the use of these products.

Number sold

Approximately 169,984 units of the affected products were sold in Canada.

Time period sold

The affected products were sold from September 2015 to January 2018.

What you should do

Consumers should immediately stop using the recalled product and return the product to a Princess Auto retail location in exchange for the consumer grade product.
