This recall involves Demdaco Microwavable Bowl Holders. The bowl holders are composed of cotton and linen fabric. They were available in various colours with 20 different designs and two sizes, including 6.5” for the small size and 8” for the large size. DEMDACO is printed on the tag sewn into the side of the bowl holder.

Issue
The recalled bowl holders’ fabric may char when warmed as intended in microwave for 3 minutes with a microwavable bowl containing liquid, posing a fire hazard.
As of April 26th 2022, the company has received no reports of incidents or injuries in Canada.
In the Unites States, the company has received 3 reports of charred fabric and no reports of injuries.
What you should do
Consumers should immediately stop using the recalled bowl holders and contact their local Demdaco retailer to obtain a full refund.
