Affected products

This recall involves three LG 86-inch Class free-standing Smart TVs with support stands. The model number and serial number are located at the bottom right of the back of the TV. Consumers can also check the serial number by pressing the mute button, three times rapidly, on the original LG remote control provided with their TV.

The model numbers of the recalled products include: 86UQ8000AUB, 86UQ7590PUD, and 86NANO75UQA.

The serial numbers of the recalled products begin with: 202RM, 203RM, 204RM, 205RM, 206RM, 207RM, or 208RM.

Issue

The free standing Smart TV can become unstable while on the assembled stand, posing serious tip-over and entrapment hazards that can result in injuries or death to children and others.

As of January 6, 2023, the company has received no reports of incidents or injuries in Canada or Mexico. In the United States, the company has received 22 reports, including 12 reports of tip-overs.

What you should do

Consumers should immediately stop using the recalled product and detach the TV from the support stand. Consumers should then place the television face down on a soft cloth or blanket in a safe location away from children. Contact LG Electronics for instructions on how to inspect the unit and to obtain replacement screws and stand parts, including help from a technician for a free repair. Consumers whose TVs are wall-mounted do not need to stop using them.
