Product description

This recall involves a novelty gold fake tooth with a $ (dollar) sign painted in black on the surface of the product. The product was sold as a Halloween item under the brand name "Big Daddy", item number 59428 and UPC number 721773594281.

Hazard identified

The recalled novelty tooth contains excessive levels of lead. Lead is toxic if ingested by young children and can cause adverse health effects. Anyone who swallows an item with high lead content is at high risk of developing severe or fatal lead poisoning.

Health Canada has not received any reports of illness or incidents related to the use of this recalled product.

Number sold

Approximately 69 of the novelty items were sold at Magasin Halloween stores in Quebec.

Time period sold

The novelty items were sold from September 2008 to November 2008.
