This recall involves certain units of Anker 321 Power Banks (PowerCore 5K, Black), Model: A1112011, identified by specific 16-digit serial numbers found on the bottom of the battery. Consumers must contact Anker to determine if their serial number is affected at the following website https://www.anker.com/ca/a1112-recall-form.
Issue
The lithium-ion batteries used in the A1112011 Anker 321 Power Banks (PowerCore 5K, Black) may overheat due to a manufacturing defect, potentially causing melting of plastic components, smoke, and posing a potential fire hazard.
As of June 14, 2024, the company has received no reports of incidents or injuries in Canada.

Consumers should immediately stop using the recalled product and safely dispose of them in a way that they cannot be used again. Contact your municipality for instructions on how to safely transport and dispose of lithium-ion batteries. Batteries are considered hazardous waste. Do not place them in household garbage.
