Product description
This recall involves a 30 Amp receptacle. The receptacle is black and is approximately 51 millimeters (2 inches) in diameter. The words "Midwest", "Receptacle", "30A", "125V AC" are molded into the surface.
The receptacle is a component within electrical power outlets or pedestals used exclusively for electrical plug-in travel trailers, typically at campgrounds or Recreational Vehicle parks, but may be installed by qualified electricians at private residences. The product is sold under the Midwest brand and may be a component in electrical power outlets or pedestals under the GE or Midwest brands.
Hazard identified
Due to an assembly anomaly, the ground connector (clip) is oversized creating the risk of shock under certain conditions.
Neither the General Electric Company nor Health Canada has received any reports of incidents or injuries related to the use of these receptacles.
Number sold
A total of approximately 558 units of the affected receptacles were sold through distributors to electrical professionals and business users in the provinces of Quebec, Ontario and Saskatchewan.
Time period sold
The affected receptacles were sold from May 21, 2012 to July 22, 2012.
Place of origin
Manufactured in Mexico.

What you should do
Installers and users should immediately stop using these recalled receptacles and those who may have purchased the product can contact GE for a replacement.
