Product description
This recall involves all 2011 Havoc bicycle frames. The 2011 bicycle frame can be identified by its serial number stamped on the bottom of the bottom bracket.
The affected serial numbers begin with:
- K10DQ
- K10FQ
- K10IQ
- K10KQ
- P11B
- P10F
- P10K
Hazard identified
Norco has learned there is a possibility of a crack developing at the joint where the top tube meets the down tube. If the crack grows large enough, the top tube could separate from the down tube while riding, resulting in loss of control of the bicycle and an accident. A rider could sustain severe personal injuries or death in a bicycle accident.
Neither Health Canada nor Norco Bicycles has received any reported incidents of or injuries to Canadians related to the use of these bicycle frames.
Number sold
Approximately 911 units of the recalled bicycle frames were sold at Norco authorized dealers across Canada.
Time period sold
The recalled bicycle frames were sold from November 2010 to September 2011.
