Product description

This recall involves Zeagle Sport Buoyancy Control Device (BCD) inflators.  Affected models include Sport Base, Sport Resort, Sport Base Plus, Sport Resort Plus, and Sport Focus.

Affected serial ranges include the following:

  • 1011765 to 1010001
  • 1012775 to 1012051
  • 1030062 to 1030001
  • 620150000 to 620150800
  • 2015081625 to 2015080921
  • 2015092740 to 2015091746
  • 2015114475 to 2015112942
  • 2016035830 to 2016034676

The serial numbers can be identified on the product from a label.

Hazard identified

There exists a possibility that buttons on the Zeagle Sport BCD inflators may break or fracture leading to a rapid loss of air or auto inflation of the BCD, posing a potential drowning hazard. 

As of October 16, 2018, the company has received no reports of incidents or injuries in Canada or the United States.

Number sold

Approximately 797 units of the affected products were sold in Canada and approximately 2,604 were sold in the United States.

Time period sold

The affected products were sold from August 2015 through August 2018 in Canada and from August 2015 through July 2018 in the United States at Zeagle authorized retailers.

Place of origin

Manufactured in Vietnam.

What you should do

Consumers should immediately stop using their Sport BCD Inflators and contact Zeagle for a free replacement.

For more information, consumers can contact Zeagle technical support toll-free at 1-888-270-8595 from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. MT Monday through Friday, or online.

Consumers may view the release by the US CPSC on the Commission's website.
