4 way wedge accessory for Woods brand hydraulic log splitters.
This recall involves 4-Way Wedge accessories used for hydraulic log splitters. These log splitter accessories were sold under the Woods brand name. The Woods brand model number is 581196. The brand name and model number is printed on the packaging.
This product consists of two steel wedges approximately 3 inch x 3 inch x 3 inch (7.62 centimetres x 7.62 centimetres x 7.62 centimetres) that can be attached using two hex flange bolts to the log splitter. There are no identifying marks or label on the 4-way wedge.
The 4-way wedge accessory can loosen or detach from the log splitter and hit an operator or bystander, causing an impact injury hazard.
As of January 26, 2018, the company has received no reports of incidents or injuries in Canada. In the United States, the company has received one report of the wedge coming loose and striking the operator resulting in a head injury.
Approximately 2 units of the affected products were sold in Canada and approximately 5128 were sold in the United States.
Time period sold
The recalled products were sold in Canada from August 2017 to January 2018, and in the United States from July 2016 to January 2018 at various dealers.
Place of origin
Manufactured in China and India.

What you should do
Consumers should immediately stop using the recalled 4-Way Wedge Kit and return it to the place of purchase for a full refund.
