Product description

This recall involves wooden play sets with swings, slides and ladders, by Adventure Playsets. Each set has a fort structure that uses green or cranberry coloured plastic coated 2"x 4" wood upright posts and a green nylon fabric covered shade. The instruction manual has the name "Adventure Playsets", with the model numbers printed on the cover.

Hazard identified

The wood in the posts of the fort sections on the swing sets can weaken due to rotting, posing a fall hazard.

Adventure Playsets is voluntarily recalling these wooden play sets in cooperation with Health Canada.

There has been one report of a fall in the United States.

Neither Adventure Playsets nor Health Canada has received any reports of incidents or injures to Canadians related to the use of these products.

An unknown amount of product was sold into Canada.

Time period sold

The recalled products were sold from 2004 to 2007 in Canada at various retailers, including Wal-Mart.

What you should do

Consumers should immediately stop using the recalled swing sets and contact Adventure Playsets to obtain a free repair kit. Repair kits will include the appropriate angled or vertical upright posts for each model with instructions for dissembling and reassembling each set.
