Product description

This recall involves the Wet n Wild Eye Make-up Remover. The product is a purple-coloured liquid in a clear 88.7 mL (3 fl.oz.) clear bottle. The recalled product has item number 962 and UPC 077802596208 on the back panel.

Hazard identified

This eye make-up remover contains high numbers of bacteria, including Enterobacter gergoviae and Listeria monocytogenes. These bacteria can cause eye infections in people, particularly those with weakened immune systems. Listeria monocytogenes can cause complications in pregnant women.

Health Canada has not received reports of incidents or illnesses to Canadians related to the use of these products.

Approximately 7,000 of the recalled products were sold across Canada.

Time period sold

The recalled products were sold from February 2009 to September 2009.
