Product description

This recall involves the water-filled teether by Small Wonders. The teether is a water-filled ring of various colours with two hard, white plastic bands. One band features a picture of a yellow shooting star, and the other features a picture of a yellow star face. The recalled teether can be identified by Style #3810 and UPC 627174038105.

Hazard identified

Health Canada requires that infant teether fillings do not contain any living micro-organisms. Testing by Health Canada has revealed that the liquid filling of the teether has been contaminated with the bacteria Bacillus cereus. This bacteria generally does not cause illness. However, the bacteria can affect children with weakened immune systems, causing stomach pain, vomiting, and diarrhea, if the teether is punctured and the liquid from the teether is ingested.

Health Canada has not received any reports of incidents or injuries related to the use of this product.
