Ottawa, August 13, 2016 - The food recall warning issued on August 12, 2016, has been updated to include additional distribution information. This additional information was identified during the Canadian Food Inspection Agency's (CFIA) food safety investigation.

Verka Food International Ltd. is recalling Verka brand Dry Petha from the marketplace because it contains sulphites which are not declared on the label. People with a sensitivity to sulphites should not consume the recalled product described below.

The following product has been sold in British Columbia and Ontario and may have been distributed in other provinces and territories.

What you should do

Check to see if you have recalled product in your home. Recalled product should be thrown out or returned to the store where it was purchased.

If you have a sensitivity to sulphites, do not consume the recalled product as it may cause a serious or life-threatening reaction.
