Hazard identified

Health Canada’s sampling and evaluation program has identified that the flooring material(s) used in the recalled tents may not meet the requirements for tent flammability under Canadian law. The tents could catch fire if exposed to a flame or other ignition source, and pose possible burn hazard to consumers.

Neither Health Canada nor Wal-Mart Canada Corporation has received reports of incidents or injuries to Canadians related to the use of these tents.

Number sold

Approximately 82,000 of the recalled tents were sold at Wal-Mart retail stores across Canada.

Time period sold

The recalled tents were sold from February 2013 to August 2013.

Place of origin

Tents manufactured in both China and Cambodia are subject to this recall.

What you should do

Consumers should immediately stop using the recalled tents.  The products can be returned to a Wal-Mart Canada retail store for a refund.
