The name "Santa Cruz" or "Juliana" appears on the down tube of the frame. Model names appear in different locations on the front and rear triangles, depending on the model. Other models and colours are not affected by this recall. Only frames without six small indents above the first letter of the serial number are included in this recall. The serial number is located on the bottom bracket shell.
Testing is necessary to identify affected frames. The aluminum frames were sold individually or as part of a complete bicycle.
Hazard identified
The aluminum frame pieces could have experienced thermal damage during a non-standard paint stripping operation and can bend or buckle causing the rider to unexpectedly fall.
As of November 11, 2020, the company has received 1 report of an incident in Canada, and no reports of injury. In the United States, the company has received 4 reports of incidents, and no reports of injury.

Consumers should immediately stop using the recalled bikes with aluminum frames and contact Santa Cruz Bicycles to arrange for a free inspection. Consumers with affected frames can choose either a replacement aluminum frame or a refund voucher for the value of the recalled frame.
