Various Roll-up Blinds sold by Jysk
Product description
This recall involves the following 3 styles of bamboo roll-up blinds sold by Jysk:
- "Cocomo"
- "Classic Living - Norike"
- "Izumo (Natural)"
The blinds come in the following sizes: 80x160cm, 100x160cm, 120x160cm, and 140x160cm. The "Cocomo" blinds are also available in 90x220cm.
Hazard identified
Health Canada has determined that the recalled roll-up blinds have a looped pull-cord which does not have a tension device; the tension device is used to secure the looped cord on the blinds to the wall or window frame.
In addition, if the lifting loop slides off the side of the blind, a child's neck may become entangled on the free-standing loop. There is also a risk of strangulation if the child places their neck between the lifting loops and the rolled up blind.
Neither Health Canada nor Jysk has received any reports of incidents or injuries relating to the use of these blinds.
For more information on the hazard, see Health Canada's advisory Strangulation Hazard Roman Shades and Roll-up Blinds May Pose to Children and information on Blind and Curtain Cords.
