Product description

This recall involves low-stretch kernmantle ropes designed for recreational use, including climbing, caving and mountaineering, as well as professional use products used for work-at-height, difficult access, technical rescue, and industrial applications. The ropes have a nylon core and polyester sheath material.

The affected products have serial numbers between 18 C 0000000 000 and 20 H 0000000 000.

The model name and serial number can be found on the label affixed to each end of the rope.

Hazard identified

The ropes may have a deep cut or tape securing two ends of rope together. Affected ropes may fail while in use, posing a fall and injury hazard to the user.

As of September 19, 2020, the company has received two reports of product defects in Canada, and no reports of injuries. In the United States, the company has received no reports of product defects, and no reports of injuries.

Number sold

The company reported that 2540 units of the affected products were sold in Canada and 14,850 units were sold in the United States.

Time period sold

The affected products were sold from March 2018 to June 2020.
