Product description

This recall involves the following loose-fitting pyjamas with brand name Xin Di Shi. The pyjama sets were available in children's sizes between 2 and 14.

613 White pyjama set with dark gray Tom and Jerry pictures (100% cotton)
623 White pyjama set with pink or red trimming and pictures of Dora (100% cotton)
629 and 630 White pyjama set with gray and blue Spiderman pictures (100% cotton)
634 White pyjama set with Hello Kitty pictures (100% cotton)
639 White pyjama set with orange trimming and pictures of Strawberry Shortcake (100% cotton)

 

Hazard identified

Health Canada has established that these products do not meet flammability requirements for children's sleepwear under Canadian law.

Loose-fitting children's sleepwear can contact stove elements, candles, and matches more readily and once ignited, will burn rapidly, potentially resulting in severe burns to large areas of the child's body.

Health Canada has not received any reports of incidents or injuries related to the use of these pyjama sets.

Number sold

Approximately 738 sets of recalled pyjamas were sold across Canada.

Time period sold

The recalled products were sold from July 2009 to December 2009.

What you should do

Consumers should immediately stop using the recalled pyjamas and return it to the store where they purchased it for either an exchange or a refund, depending on each store's policy.
