Various "Breeze" style shoes by C. & J. Clark Canada Limited recalled due to potential chemical hazard
Immediately stop using the products and contact the Company for instructions on how to obtain a refund.
This recall involves several versions of Clarks women’s shoes sold under the “Breeze” style name, as reflected above. The shoes were introduced for the Spring/Summer 2022 season and were sold in sizes 5-12 and feature blue uppers and white soles. The shoes include a label on the inside of the upper that includes the size, month and year of manufacture and the article number. The impacted models are the Breeze Ave in Dark Navy [article 26165269], the Breeze Shore in Navy [article 26164910] and the Breeze Step in Dark Navy [article 26166718] and Navy/White [article 26165290]. Customers can identify if their shoes need to be returned by checking the article number. This is the first 8 digits of the 12-digit number and can be found inside the shoe. An example of the label is shown below.
The Company has become aware that the dye used in the navy fabric of the affected models contains traces of azo dyes. Prolonged and direct contact with the fabric could expose the wearer to the chemical benzidine or dimethoxybenzidine.
As of October 17, 2022, the Company has received no reports of incidents in Canada and no reports of injuries. In the United States, the company has received no reports of incidents and no reports of injuries.
