Product description
This recall involves the following bingo daubers, which are special markers used by bingo players.
- Bingo daubers with brand names "Dabbin Fever", "Lucky Dab" and "Ultima Wink" sold in 110mL and 4 oz bottles. Available in red, blue, green, pumpkin, pink, yellow, teal, purple, fuschia, and burgundy. The yellow also comes in an 80mL and 3 oz size.
- Bingo daubers with brand name "Bingo Brite". Available in blue, green, grape, purple, magenta, and lime. All colours come in 110mL and 4 oz bottles. The purple and magenta also come in 80mL and 3 oz sizes.
- Bingo daubers with brand name "Bingo Buddy". Available in red, blue, green, teal, purple, magenta, and cranberry. All colours come in 110mL and 4 oz bottles. The purple and magenta also come in 80mL and 3 oz sizes.
Hazard identified
Health Canada has established that the bingo daubers do not meet the mandatory packaging and labelling requirements of the Consumer Chemicals and Containers Regulations, 2001 for toxic products. This lack of packaging and labelling information may lead to serious injury.
Health Canada has received one complaint where a child was found mouthing a sponge soaked with ink used to stamp bingo cards; no illness resulted from this incident.
Arrow Games has not received any reports of injuries or incidents related to the use of these products.
Number sold
Nearly 2 million of the affected bingo daubers have been available at a variety of locations across Canada, including at bingo halls, community centres or associations, and novelty stores.
Time period sold
The recalled bingo daubers were sold from January 2009 to May 2010.
