Product description
This recall involves the following pendants/beads that were sold in packages for consumers or jewellery makers:
- Antique brass pendants in the shape of a dog that looks like a Scottish terrier (item number MP1186/oxbr)
- Antique silver-coloured pendants that are cube-shaped with the letter "K" (item number MBCK)
- Antique silver-coloured pendants in the shape of a smiley face (item number MBHFACE)
- Antique silver-coloured pendants in the shape of a heart that has a picture of a heart with an arrow through it (item number MPS2528/MOXWH)
- 3-piece silver-coloured pendants that read "Forever Friends" when linked together (item number MPM63). One piece has a heart in a circle with "FOREV", one piece has a smiley face with "ER FRI", and one piece has a peace sign with "ENDS".
- Miniature antique brass pendants in the shape of a heart (item number MP1719/OXBR)
- Heavy pewter pendants in the shape of a dragon (item number MPHV81)
- Heavy antique silver-coloured pendants in the shape of a skull (item number MPHV12/OXWH).
Hazard identified
Health Canada's sampling and evaluation program has revealed that the recalled pendants contain lead in levels up to 90%. Lead is toxic if ingested by young children and can cause adverse health effects.
Neither Frabels nor Health Canada has received reports of incidents or illnesses related to the use of these pendants.

Number sold
Approximately 1,070 of the recalled pendants were sold in Ontario, Saskatchewan and Quebec.
Time period sold
The recalled products were sold from January 2009 to January 2010.
Place of origin
Manufactured in Canada and in China.

What you should do
Consumers should immediately take the recalled pendants away from children and contact Frabels for instructions on returning the product for a credit.
