Product description
This recall involves Varathane Bar & Table Finish. The product is a kit consisting of two bottles, Part A (resin) and Part B (activator) that are mixed together to form a pour-on clear epoxy finish. The recalled product has UPC 0 63213 02428 7 and item number Y236000 which can be found on the side panel of the product’s packaging.
Products that state "USE ENTIRE CONTENTS ON OPENING. THIS CONTAINER IS NOT CHILD-RESISTANT" on the box are not part of this recall.
Hazard identified
The recalled product does not meet the labelling and child-resistant packaging requirements required by the Consumer Chemicals and Containers Regulations, 2001 under the Canada Consumer Product Safety Act.
The product is intended to be a single-use product; however, it lacks the required warning indicating it is a single-use product. Due to the lack of a child-resistant closure, once the product is opened it presents a risk of unintentional exposure, which could lead to serious illness or injury, including death.
As of May 11, 2020, the company has received no reports of incidents or injuries in Canada.

Approximately 123,620 units of the affected product were sold in Canada.
