Becton Dickinson and Company has initiated a medical device recall of specific production lots of BD Vacutainer Eclipse Blood Collection Needle 22G x 1.25". Becton Dickinson and Company has indicated that lots 9025826, 8354527 may have the bevel missing from the non-patient needle end of the Eclipse Blood Collection Needle. This non-patient needle is housed in a sleeve that encloses the needle after puncture to prevent any leakage. If there is no bevel, the needle may damage the sleeve, causing leakage.
