Product description

The recall affects selected Science Education Sets under the Thames & Kosmos brand.

The affected science education sets are called CHEM C1000 and Glowing Chemistry. All U.S. version production codes sold in Canada are recalled.

For the affected units of the CHEM C1000 set, the product number is 640118 and UPC is 814743010246. For the affected units of the Glowing Chemistry set, the affected product number is 644895 and UPC 814743010970.

Please Note that Canadian versions of the C1000, bearing bilingual packaging and required warning statements are not included in this recall.

Hazard identified

The CHEM C1000 and Glowing Chemistry science education sets contain chemicals and have been sold in Canada without the required bilingual safety warning statements and labels. These labels direct the user to important safety information regarding use of the chemicals provided with the product and communicate recommended age suitability for use of the products.

As of December 24, 2020, the company has received no report(s) of incidents or injuries in Canada or elsewhere.

Number sold

Approximately 62 kits of CHEM C1000 and 3 kits of Glowing Chemistry products were sold in Canada.

Time period sold

The affected products were sold from January 2020 to August 2020.
