Undeclared sesame in certain EL CAMINO REAL BAKERY brand FIRST GRAIN BARS

Ottawa, September 18, 2012 - The Canadian Food Inspection Agency (CFIA) and Costco Wholesale Canada Inc. are warning people with allergies to sesame not to consume certain El Camino Real Bakery brand First Grain Bars. The affected product contains sesame which is not declared on the label.

The affected product, El Camino Real Bakery brand First Grain Bars, Product of U.S.A., is sold in 907g package, bearing UPC 7 31216 99113 3 and Best Before date 11/13/2012.

This product has been distributed in Alberta, British Columbia, Manitoba, and Saskatchewan.

There have been no reported reactions associated with the consumption of this product.

Consumption of this product may cause a serious or life-threatening reaction in persons with allergies to sesame.
