Ottawa, January 22, 2011 - The Canadian Food Inspection Agency (CFIA) and Sobeys are warning people with allergies to peanuts not to consume the chocolate chunk cookies described below. The affected product contains peanuts which are not declared on the label.

The affected product is in-store baked Peanut Butter Choc Chunk Cookies 8 Pkg incorrectly labelled as Chocolate Chunks Chips Chewy Cookie 8s. The cookies were sold in packages of eight (8) cookies bearing a UPC 287839 602999, a Packed On date of JA 18, 11 (January 18, 2011) and a Best Before date of JA 28, 11 (January 28, 2011).

This product was sold at Sobeys Store at Sydney Shopping Centre, 272B Prince Street, Sydney, Nova Scotia.

There have been no reported illnesses associated with the consumption of this product.

Consumption of this product may cause a serious or life-threatening reaction in persons with allergies to peanuts.

The manufacturer, Sobeys, Sydney Shopping Centre, 272B Prince Street, Sydney, Nova Scotia, is voluntarily recalling the affected product from the marketplace The CFIA is monitoring the effectiveness of the recall.
