Advisory details
Ottawa, June 20, 2011 - The Canadian Food Inspection Agency (CFIA) is warning people with allergies to milk proteins not to consume the Taitan brand Mixed Cereal with Five Black Paste described below. The affected product contains milk which is not declared on the label.
Taitan brand Mixed Cereal with Five Black Paste, product of Taiwan, is sold in a 640 g package (32 g x 20 sachets), bearing UPC 4 710311 925003. All Expiration date codes are affected.
This product has been distributed in British Columbia.
There have been no reported illnesses associated with the consumption of this product.
Consumption of this product may cause a serious or life-threatening reaction in persons with allergies to milk.
The importer, JFC International (Canada) Inc., Mississauga, ON is voluntarily recalling the affected product from the marketplace. The CFIA is monitoring the effectiveness of the recall.
