Joint Recall with Infantino, Health Canada, and the United States Consumer Product Safety Commission (US CPSC)

Affected products

Troy the Activity Truck

Product description

This recall involves a motorized brightly coloured plastic toy truck with flexible plastic tubing in orange and green. Items shaped like stars, circles, and hearts are attached to and slide along the tubes. When the on/off switch underneath the truck and a second switch on the bed of the truck are on, pushing coloured buttons on the bed of the truck activates music and a spinning rear axle.

The face of the truck features the Infantino logo. The underside of the truck has Infantino's contact information and one of these 3 model numbers: 153-210, 206-110, or 506-110C.

Hazard identified

The plastic tubing can detach and release the small sliding shapes; these small parts pose a choking hazard to young children.

The US CPSC and Infantino have received 25 reported incidents of parts detaching. No injuries have been reported, although 15 of the reports indicated that a child had a detached shape in his/her mouth and 2 of these reported that the child was gagging.

In Canada, Infantino has received 3 reports that the toy broke and the parts detached. No injuries were reported.

Health Canada has not received any reports of incidents or injuries related to the use of these toys.
