Product description

This recall involves black braided high pressure scuba air hoses. The recalled air hoses are black braided high pressure scuba air hoses. The hoses measure about one centimetre in diameter and vary in length from 15.24 centimetres (6 inches), 81.28 centimetres (32 Inches) and 91.44 centimetres (36 inches). These hoses attach to the regulator first stage and are intended for use with the submersible pressure gauge (SPG's) that indicate the air pressure in the scuba diving tank.

These recalled hoses were sold under the "Trident" and "Phantom" brand names printed only on the product packaging. The "Trident" air hoses have production date codes stamped into the metal fitting that attaches to the regulator with the following codes: T0811, T0911, T1011, T1111, T1211, T0112, and T0212. The "Phantom" air hoses have production date codes stamped into the metal fitting that attaches to the regulator with the following codes: 11Q3, 11Q4 and 12Q1.

Hazard identified

The diving hose can rupture reducing the available air supply to the diver, posing a drowning hazard.

In the United States, there have been 9 reports of hoses bursting with no injuries.

Health Canada has not received any reports of incidents or injuries to Canadians related to the use of these hoses

Number sold

Approximately 160 of the recalled "Trident" Braided High Pressure Hoses and 176 of the recalled "Phantom" Double Braided High Pressure Hoses were sold in Canada.

Time period sold

The recalled Phantom hoses were sold from August 2011 to August 2012.

Place of origin
