Issue

On certain motorcycles, the rear brake line could become damaged by contact with the body control module (BCM). Over time, this could lead to a brake fluid leak and cause reduced braking.

Safety risk

Reduced braking can cause extended stopping distances and increase the risk of a crash.

Corrective actions

Harley-Davidson will notify owners by mail and advise you to take your motorcycle to a dealership to replace the BCM bracket. The dealer will also inspect and, if necessary, replace the rear brake line.
