Issue
On a small number of buses, the wheelchair tie-down retractors may not have been manufactured properly. As a result, the retractor(s) may not lock automatically. If this happens, the wheelchair may not be secured correctly and could move in a crash.
Safety risk
A wheelchair that moves in a crash could increase the risk of injury.
Corrective actions
To reduce the safety risk, Micro Bird recommends you confirm the wheelchair is secured properly by attempting to move it before driving until the recall repairs have been completed. Micro Bird will notify owners by mail and advise you to take your bus to a dealership to inspect and, if necessary, replace the wheelchair retractor(s).
