Issue
On a small number of fire trucks, certain hydraulic hoses may not have been manufactured properly. As a result, the hoses could fail and leak oil. Additionally, this could cause hydraulic systems such as the aerial platform, ladder and outriggers not to work properly.
Safety risk
Oil that leaks can create the risk of a fire. Hydraulic systems that don't work properly could increase the risk of injury.
Corrective actions
Smeal will notify owners by mail and advise you to take your fire truck to a dealership to inspect and, if necessary, replace the hydraulic hose(s).
