Issue
Issue:
On certain snowmobiles, the engine control module bracket may have been broken during production. As a result, the broken bracket could fall in the engine compartment and cause the throttle to become stuck.
Note: This recall only affects certain snowmobiles equipped with 600R E-TEC, 850 E-TEC or 850 E-TEC Turbo R engines.
Safety Risk:
A stuck throttle could cause an unintended acceleration and increase the risk of a crash.
Corrective Actions:
BRP will notify owners by mail and advise you to take your snowmobile to a dealership to inspect the throttle body and, if necessary, remove the broken bracket. The dealer will also inspect the engine control module bracket and replace it, as necessary.
