Transport Canada Recall - 2024320 - HYUNDAI

Issue: On certain vehicles, the steering gear controller may not have been manufactured properly. As a result, the controller could short circuit and fail. If this happens, a malfunction indicator lamp may turn on and there could be a sudden loss of power steering assist. Safety Risk: A loss of power steering assist can cause a sudden increase in steering effort and create the risk of a crash. Corrective Actions: Hyundai will notify owners by mail and advise you to take your vehicle to a dealership to replace the electric power pack for the steering gear.
